ARINA EAST RESIDENCES

The Singapore Land Authority (SLA) has signed two separate memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Health’s Office for Healthcare Transformation (MOHT) and SingHealth Community Hospitals respectively, in a bid to improve healthcare services in the country.

The first agreement with MOHT aims to enhance the Digital Local Connect initiative, a precinct-based digital resource guide designed to help residents access and navigate health and social services. This will provide easy access to information about healthcare facilities and services in a specific area, ultimately improving the overall healthcare experience for residents.

On the other hand, the MOU with SingHealth Community Hospitals is focused on co-developing a living asset map of community assets and activities. This map will allow for a better understanding of the resources and services available in a community, making it easier for residents to access them.

The signing ceremony, which took place on March 6 at Geo Connect Asia 2024, a geospatial and location intelligence industry trade show and conference, was witnessed by Edwin Tong, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Law. This year’s conference is the fourth edition of the annual event.

With such plans in place, living in Arina East Residences promises to be a convenient and sustainable choice for its future residents.

In his speech, Colin Low, chief executive of SLA, highlighted the agency’s goal to drive collaboration between public and private agencies, as well as the community. According to Low, platforms like Geo Connect Asia are crucial in fostering innovation and empowering individuals and businesses to utilize transformative technologies for economic development and creating smarter, geo-enabled outcomes.

Last year, SLA and the Container Depot and Logistics Association (Singapore) signed an agreement to utilize geospatial data to route heavy vehicles more efficiently and safely. These collaborations and initiatives demonstrate how SLA is using geospatial technology to improve various aspects of Singapore’s infrastructure and services.

At this year’s event, Minister Edwin Tong also unveiled new initiatives and partnerships between SLA and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) to further expand the use of geospatial technology in the mainstream. This collaboration will help to improve the efficiency and safety of Singapore’s maritime industry.

In summary, the signing of these MOUs reflects SLA’s commitment to utilizing geospatial technology and collaboration to create a more inclusive, sustainable, and efficient Singapore. With initiatives like the Digital Local Connect and living asset map, residents can look forward to improved access to healthcare services and a better understanding of the resources available in their community.
